چکیده

Soil is a fundamental component of the biosphere, whose properties and quality are affected by human activities, such as agriculture. health for different ecosystem services soil biota has crucial role in maintaining it. Elucidating how crops agricultural practices affect invertebrates communities relevance. In present study, DNA metabarcoding approach was adopted to evaluate effects biotic abiotic factors, including practices, on composition diversity invertebrate agro-ecosystems (Po Plain-Italy). At this aim, markers more effective primers retrieving metazoan were established. Bulk samples from (i.e., cornfield, alfalfa, paddy fields, vineyard, stable meadow, woodland) collected and, processed obtaining 18S rRNA coi sequences (raw reads analyzed using QIIME2 R). physical chemical parameters measured each sample (e.g., pH, carbon-nitrogen ratio, texture, porosity) metadata farms management retrieved. The most efficient primer pairs recovering metazoans M620F/M1260R rRNA, mlCOIintF/jgHCO2198R gene. resulted dominated Nematoda, Arthropoda, Annelida, Rotifera Tardigrada. diverse have been found meadows woodlands, while cornfields showed lowest level diversity. (Hill numbers) positively correlated with porosity it negatively phosphate abundance. This pattern probably reflects negative effect excessive fertilization phosphates fauna, abundance organic matter microhabitats enhance presence complex communities. Other only specific taxa pH Annelida Rotifera).

Saproxylic beetles of the Po plain woodlands, Italy

Forest ecosystems play an important role for the conservation of biodiversity, and for the protection of ecological processes. The Po plain woodlands which once covered the whole Plain, today are reduced in isolated highly threatened remnants by modern intensive agriculture. These close to natural floodplain forests are one of the most scarce and endangered ecosystems in Europe. Saproxylic spec...

The ecological role of biodiversity in agroecosystems

Increasingly research suggests that the level of internal regulation of function in agroecosystems is largely dependent on the level of plant and animal biodiversity present. In agroecosystems, biodiversity performs a variety of ecological services beyond the production of food, including recycling of nutrients, regulation of microclimate and local hydrological processes, suppression of undesir...

Bacteriological screening of Trachemys scripta elegans and Emys orbicularis in the Po plain (Italy)

Since 1999, introduced Trachemys scripta elegans from artificial and natural water bodies in the Po plain (North Italy) were bacteriologically screened. From 2001 onwards, a survey of Emys orbicularis was started in the same area. 15 carcasses and 349 cloacal swabs from T. s. elegans, and 100 cloacal swabs from E. orbicularis have been studied. Most samples yielded positive bacteriological resu...

The Effects of Environmental Factors on Bromeliad Invertebrate Biodiversity

Bromeliaceae is a family of Neotropical plants that retain water between leaves of a rosette arrangement. Each water-retaining tank is referred to as a phytotelma. This particular system is important to consider in the understanding of biodiversity because it creates an ecosystem of its own, providing a habitat for many invertebrates and larvae. In this study, the relationship between environme...
